1986 Kutis National Open Cup Champions
Following in Hall of Famer father Bill, Joe Eppy would also wear the Kutis shield from 1976 to 1984 with a couple of years with Scott Gallagher. Controlling the backfield with more actions than words, Joe usually let his talents on the field speak for him. At Scott Gallagher Joe would win a McGuire U-19 Championship and an Amateur Cup title. Returning to Kutis, Joe would find himself and the team winning a number of State Amateur and Open Cups before winning the National Open Cup in 1986. Joe’s style was reminiscent of his father, reading the play, shutting down their best offensive threats, trying to stay out of the spotlight, and leaving nothing on the table. 100% at the start and 100% at the end of the game.
