Mike LaPosha – A product of local CYC soccer (very proud St. Christopher teammate) and another success story from the Scott Gallagher organization. A North County resident, injured and missed his senior year of high school, chose to stay at home and play for Pete Sorber at Florissant Valley CC winning an NJCAA national championship in 1989. From there Mike went on to play 2 years at UMSL where in 1991 the team was ranked #1 in NCAA D2 and received not only an NCAA tournament bid but also a first round bye. During college and before his 7 years with the St. Louis Ambush, Mike played for the Busch, Florissant Rowdies, and NORCO soccer clubs respectfully. An NPSL All-Rookie team selection in 1993-94 with the Ambush and a member of the St. Louis heavy rostered 1994-95 NPSL championship team…the only professional league championship that St. Louis can claim…also played in the NPSL league championship series 4 out of his 7 year career. In addition to his career with the Ambush, Mike spent two summers playing with the St. Louis Knights (outdoor USISL) and one summer with the Anaheim Splash (indoor CISL). His Ambush career ended in 1999-2000 with 245 games played…third highest in team history.
An extremely proud St. Louisian, most proud of the very successful teams he has been a part of, also has two grandfathers (Harry Crawford, Jr – 1978 and Bill LaPosha – 1978) in the St. Louis Soccer HOF as well as his great grandfather (Harry Crawford, Sr – 1974).
