Marty Templin – Treasurer
Marty was inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame in 2002.
He has been involved in Soccer on all levels in St. Louis.
In the late 60’s and early 70’s he played Amateur Soccer for Kutis & Bilgere Construction. 1967 & 1968 he played Collegiate Soccer at Harris Teachers College & Forest Park. He also played for the St. Louis Frogs (Semi-Pro).
In the 1980’s he coached CYC Youth Ball.
Marty also refereed all levels of Amateur and Professional Soccer. He began his career as a referee in 1971 when he joined the MSHSAA. He officiated High School games until 2005. Marty refereed numerous State Championship games. He helped start the “Observers Program” for the MSHSAA and now serves as an observer of referees.
In 1972 he joined NISOA and officiated college games until 1999. During his career he also officiated numerous “Bronze Boot” games. In 1979 he refereed at the NCAA Final Four in Tampa, FL. Marty also officiated NCAA and NAIA games throughout the Midwest during his college refereeing career.
From 1972 to 1995, Marty refereed with the USSF refereeing seniors, juniors and other youth games both indoor and outdoor. During these years he also refereed USSF Amateur and Open Cup games in the Midwest.
He also refereed in the local CYC Major League (Senior) and CYC (Junior) Pepsi League.
From 1972 to 1982, Marty served as a Linesman (AR) in the NASL.
In 1980 he began his career in the MISL and continued until the league closed in 1993. He refereed numerous Championship Series as well as the 1985, 1986 and 1987 All-Star games.
In 1994 Marty refereed in the CISL (Continental Indoor Soccer League). At the end of the season he retired from the USSF.
