A SPECIAL HEARTWARMING STORY ABOUT MR. MURPHY AND HIS GRANDSON
Hi Mr Leeker. This is Daniel J. Murphy’s daughter requesting your help with information regarding the pictured cuff links.
After my father passed in 1989, my mom gave these cuff links to my youngest sister, Jean. Mom told Jean that Dad received these cuff links from the Liverpool football club when his STL team played them in 1948. I have no idea which team my Dad was playing on in 1951 I tried Googling for info but wasn’t successful. My sister would like to give these to my grandson (he kicks for Lindbergh HS and Scott Gallagher) for his graduation and some background information would make them even more special.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
My grandson is very proud of his great grandfather. He keeps the photo of him and his brother, Willie Murphy, hanging in his bedroom.
I gave him his grandfather’s 1944-45 gold medal for his 18th birthday. He will be thrilled to get the cuff links when he graduates. I’ll be sure to send you a photo
My grandson, Nathan Cobb, received his great grandfather’s (Daniel J Murphy) Liverpool cuff links as his high school graduation gift (5/21) from his Aunt Jean Murphy Strickland. I think my Dad received these when his team played Liverpool 1948. Nathan was thrilled to receive them.
